Black Friday & Small Business Saturday Hashtags 2026

Black Friday weekend is the busiest stretch of the year for most online sellers, and also the noisiest. Every shop, chain and marketplace posts the same handful of event hashtags in the same four days. Getting found takes a different approach from the rest of the year: one event tag, and everything else spent on what you actually sell.
This guide covers the 2026 dates, tag sets for each day from the first teaser to the last shipping deadline, and the places where sale words should stay out. We checked the dates and platform rules below against official sources in October 2026.

The 2026 Calendar
| Date (2026) | Moment | Main tags |
|---|---|---|
| Wednesday, November 11 | Singles' Day (11.11) | #SinglesDay, #1111Sale |
| Thursday, November 26 | US Thanksgiving | #Thanksgiving2026 |
| Friday, November 27 | Black Friday | #BlackFriday, #BlackFridayDeals |
| Saturday, November 28 | Small Business Saturday (US and Canada) | #SmallBusinessSaturday, #ShopSmall |
| Monday, November 30 | Cyber Monday | #CyberMonday, #CyberMondayDeals |
| Tuesday, December 1 | Giving Tuesday | #GivingTuesday |
| Saturday, December 5 | Small Business Saturday UK | #SmallBusinessSaturday, #ShopLocal |
| Monday, December 14 | Green Monday | #GreenMonday |
| Saturday, December 19 | Last Saturday before Christmas | #LastMinuteGifts |
| Saturday, December 26 | Boxing Day (UK, Canada, Australia) | #BoxingDay, #BoxingDaySale |
Two things stand out this year. Black Friday weekend runs straight into Giving Tuesday, so four event days land in five days. And the UK's Small Business Saturday comes a week after the US one, on the first Saturday in December, so UK shops get a second local moment after the Black Friday rush.
Tag the Product, Then the Event
On Black Friday, #BlackFriday puts your post in the same place as every retailer running a sale, from global chains to the shop next door. The event tag tells people when. The product tags tell them what, and the what is usually what they are looking for.
On Instagram, which allows 5 hashtags per post or Reel, this structure works across the whole season:
- One event tag: #BlackFriday, #SmallBusinessSaturday, #CyberMonday or #GivingTuesday
- Three product tags: what it is, the type, and one key feature or recipient
- One shop or local tag: #ShopSmall, #ShopLocal, #HandmadeGifts or your city
Hashtags in your first comment count toward the same 5. The same thinking works on every other platform: one event tag where tags are used, and the product named clearly in words.
Hashtags for Each Moment
Teasers and early access (early to mid November)
- #BlackFridaySneakPeek
- #BlackFridayEarlyAccess
- #EarlyBlackFriday
- #ComingSoon
Use these for posts that tell followers what is coming and how to get it first, such as a mailing list or an early-access code.
Black Friday (November 27)

- #BlackFriday2026
- #BlackFridayDeals
- #BlackFridaySale
- #BlackFridayWeekend
Small Business Saturday (November 28)
- #SmallBusinessSaturday
- #SmallBizSaturday
- #ShopSmall
- #ShopLocal
- #SupportSmallBusiness
- #ShopIndependent
Small Business Saturday was founded by American Express in 2010, and the US Small Business Administration has co-sponsored it since 2011. The day exists to send shoppers to independent businesses, so its tags fit a one-person studio or a family shop, and look out of place on a national chain. Add your city or neighborhood as a tag so local shoppers can find you. If you accept American Express, you can also add your business to Amex's Shop Small Map.
Cyber Monday and Cyber Week (November 30 onward)
- #CyberMonday
- #CyberMondayDeals
- #CyberMondaySale
- #CyberWeek
Cyber Monday suits online-only shops and digital products: templates, presets, courses, gift cards. Many shops stretch it into a Cyber Week, so #CyberWeek works through the following days.
Giving Tuesday (December 1)
- #GivingTuesday
GivingTuesday started in 2012 as a day of giving after the shopping weekend. Use the tag only when you are actually giving: a share of sales to a named cause, a fundraiser, a product whose proceeds go to charity. Say how much goes to whom. Using it on an ordinary sale reads as borrowing a charity moment.
Gift guides (all of November and December)
- #GiftGuide
- #HolidayGiftGuide
- #GiftIdeas
- #GiftsForHer
- #GiftsForHim
- #GiftsForMom
- #SecretSanta
- #StockingStuffers
Gift guides need time to be found and saved, so post them from early November, not on Black Friday itself. Use #StockingStuffers only for small items that actually fit in a stocking.
Holiday shopping and the last weeks
- #HolidayShopping
- #ChristmasShopping
- #ChristmasGifts
- #GreenMonday
- #LastMinuteGifts
Green Monday, the second Monday of December, has been used as a name for a big December online shopping day since 2007. From mid-December, post your own last order date for delivery before Christmas, based on your carrier's published holiday deadlines. Digital products, gift cards and local pickup are what still work after that date, and #LastMinuteGifts fits them.
Markets, pop-ups and local
- #HolidayMarket
- #ChristmasMarket
- #MakersMarket
- #CraftFair
- #HandmadeGifts
For an in-person market, post the booth location, date and hours in the caption and add the town as a tag. People search for markets near them.
Singles' Day, Boxing Day and other sales
- #SinglesDay
- #1111Sale
- #BoxingDay
- #BoxingDaySale
Singles' Day on November 11 is one of China's biggest online shopping events and is widely marked across Asia, so use it if your buyers are there. Boxing Day sales on December 26 matter in the UK, Canada and Australia.
Platform by Platform
| Platform | Event tags | What to do with the deal |
|---|---|---|
| 1 of your 5 | Put the offer and end date in the first line of the caption | |
| TikTok videos | 1 of 3 to 5 | Show the product and say the offer out loud and on screen |
| TikTok Shop listing | None in the title | Titles of 40 to 150 characters, without discount wording |
| Facebook posts and Reels | 1 of 1 to 3 | Clear photo, price and end date |
| Facebook Marketplace | No hashtags | Product name, condition and price in the title |
| X | 1 of no more than 2 | One event tag and one product tag |
| Threads | 1 topic tag | Pick the product category, not the event |
| No hashtags | Gift-focused keywords in Pin titles, live well before November | |
| Etsy | Not in tags | Use the sale tools; spend the 13 tags on gift phrases |
| Amazon | Not in search terms | No temporary claims like "on sale" in search terms |
TikTok Shop and Amazon: keep deal words out
TikTok's own seller guide says product titles should be 40 to 150 characters and should avoid discount wording, stock information and praise like "bestseller". Put "Black Friday" and "30% off" in your video and caption, never in the product title.
Amazon's search terms field must stay under 250 bytes, and Amazon excludes temporary claims such as "on sale" or "new", along with subjective words like "best". Use Amazon's own deal and coupon tools for the discount, and keep the search terms for words a buyer would type: occasions, recipients and uses.
Etsy: let the sale tools show the discount
Etsy tags follow the usual rules: up to 13 tags per listing, each up to 20 characters, without a # sign. When you put listings on sale through Etsy's sales tools, Etsy's Seller Handbook says it updates the listing pages and the listing cards in search results so buyers can see they are part of a promotion. That leaves your tags free for the phrases buyers type in December: "gift for her", "secret santa gift", "christmas gift".
Pinterest: you are planning, not posting
Pinterest's own holiday guidance tells brands to reach shoppers early, because people on Pinterest search and save for the holidays well before the shopping weekend. Gift guide Pins should already be live by the time Black Friday posts start on other platforms. Pinterest does not use hashtags, so write the gift idea in the Pin title, description and board name. Our Pinterest tags vs hashtags guide explains how.

When to Post What
Late October: plan and pin. Choose your offers and dates. Put gift guide Pins live on Pinterest now.
Early November: gift guides. Post gift guides and "gifts for" content on Instagram, TikTok and Facebook. Singles' Day on November 11 if your buyers are in Asia.
Mid November: teasers. Show what is coming and how to get early access. Collect emails or followers for the drop.
November 27 to 30: the weekend. Black Friday, then Small Business Saturday, then Cyber Monday. Post every day, and change the event tag each day while keeping the product tags.
December 1: Giving Tuesday, if you are giving.
December 1 to 18: gifts and deadlines. More gift guides, your last order date, Green Monday on December 14, and UK Small Business Saturday on December 5.
December 19 to 24: last minute. Gift cards, digital products, local pickup and #LastMinuteGifts.
After each sale ends: clean up. Remove event tags from your bio, pinned posts and listings.
Common Mistakes
Using only event tags. Five Black Friday tags on one post say when, five times, and never say what. Lead with the product.
Using #SmallBusinessSaturday as a large company. The day is for independent businesses, and shoppers notice when a big brand borrows it.
Using #GivingTuesday without giving. Name the cause and the amount, or leave the tag off.
Putting deal words where they do not belong. TikTok Shop titles, Amazon search terms and Etsy tags are not the place for "Black Friday" or "50% off". Use the video, the caption and each platform's sale tools.
Posting the gift guide on Black Friday. A gift guide helps people decide, so it belongs in early November while they are still deciding, not on the day they buy.
Leaving Black Friday up in December. A pinned "Black Friday sale" post on December 10 makes a shop look abandoned. Take each event tag down when its sale ends.
Tagging brands you do not sell. It misleads buyers, breaks Amazon's search terms rules and can get a post reported.
Get Your Black Friday Sets in Seconds
The event tag is the easy part: everyone uses the same one. The tags that get you found are the ones that describe your product. Describe your product in our free Product Hashtag Generator for a set sized to each platform, or use the Small Business Hashtag Generator for shop and local posts.
