Refund Policy

1. Overview

We want every Hashtag Tools customer to be happy with their purchase. If a paid product does not meet your expectations, this policy explains how to request a refund and when refunds are issued.

Purchases on Hashtag Tools are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited as our Merchant of Record. Refunds are issued by Paddle on our authorization to the original payment method.

2. One-time digital downloads

Because downloadable digital products (PDF reports, downloadable resources, ZIP archives of files) cannot be "returned" the way physical goods can, we use a download-state-based refund policy:

  • Before download: If you have purchased but not yet downloaded the product file(s), you can request a full refund within 7 days of purchase — no questions asked
  • After download, within 7 days: Refunds are available case-by-case if the product materially fails to deliver what was advertised on the product page. Contact us with the specific issue and we'll resolve fairly
  • After download, beyond 7 days: All sales are final

Free sample files are available on the product page before purchase — we strongly encourage you to download a sample to verify the format and content before buying.

We reserve the right to deny refunds where there is documented evidence of abuse (e.g., repeated purchase-and-refund cycles of the same product, or evidence that the downloaded files have been redistributed).

3. Hashtag Tools Pro (subscription)

Hashtag Tools Pro is a recurring subscription that unlocks unlimited hashtag generations (the free plan is capped at 5 per day). It renews automatically each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account page; cancellation stops the next billing cycle and you keep Pro access until the end of the current paid period.

  • A full refund is available within 14 days of the initial purchase if you have not used Pro features beyond standard free-tier usage
  • Renewal charges are non-refundable after 48 hours of the renewal date, except where required by applicable consumer law
  • Pro-rata refunds for unused subscription time are not standard but may be granted in case of billing errors, extended service outages, or other documented issues

4. Exceptions

Refunds may be declined in the following cases:

  • One-time digital downloads requested beyond the windows in Section 2 (7 days for undownloaded files; case-by-case within 7 days after download; all sales final after that)
  • Subscriptions requested more than 14 days after the original purchase — renewals see Section 3
  • Abuse of the refund policy — for example, repeated purchase-and-refund cycles of the same product, or evidence that the digital product was redistributed
  • Chargebacks initiated through the payment provider before contacting us — these are handled by Paddle's dispute process directly

5. EU and UK Consumer Rights

Customers in the EU and UK have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for distance-purchase contracts under EU Directive 2011/83/EU and UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

For digital downloads, by completing your purchase you expressly consent to immediate access and acknowledge that you lose your statutory right of withdrawal once the download has commenced. Our voluntary refund policy (Section 2) still gives you a 7-day full-refund window before download begins, which is broader than the statutory baseline once a download has started.

6. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund:

  1. Contact us through the contact form on hashtagtools.io with the email used at checkout and the order ID (visible on the Paddle receipt email)
  2. Briefly describe the reason — this is optional but helps us improve
  3. We will process the request within 2 business days and confirm by email
  4. Refunds typically appear on the original payment method within 5-10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer

Alternatively, you can request a refund directly through your Paddle receipt email — Paddle provides a "request a refund" link in every order confirmation.
